Giza Plateau

The Giza Plateau is the last standing Wonder and a working archaeological site. Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, the Sphinx, and the valley temple of Khafre sit on one ridge west of the Nile. Nazlet El-Samman is the village on the Sphinx side. GEM is on the eastern edge. Ministry hours (egymonuments.gov.eg, 2026): 08:00–16:00 every day. Area ticket: Egyptians 60 EGP adult / 30 student; foreigners 700 / 350. That ticket does not include the interiors of Khufu, Khafre, or Menkaure, the tomb of Meresankh III, or the workers' cemetery. Khufu interior is extra (Egyptians 100 / 50, foreigners 1000 / 500) and still needs the area ticket. Cars 25 EGP. Locals come on feast days because the Egyptian ticket is cheap. First-timers walk GEM in the morning, the plateau after lunch, then the western panorama. The old Solar Boat Museum on the plateau is gone. The boats are inside GEM. Camels and touts concentrate at the Sphinx / Nazlet edge. Sound and Light is a separate night show (soundandlight.show). This is an attraction, not a mall.
