New Year’s Eve at the Cairo Opera House
Each 31 December, the Cairo Opera House hosts its grand New Year’s Eve gala in the Main Hall, with the Cairo Symphony Orchestra performing a programme of classical favourites, Viennese waltzes and festive showpieces alongside guest soloists.
It is the city’s most elegant way to welcome the new year, drawing Cairo’s cultural crowd to the Gezira island venue that has been the capital’s performing-arts heart since 1988.
