Gamal Sholqamy, the Kebabgy, is a Giza institution built on charcoal and lamb. The story goes back more than 47 years, when Hajj Gamal Sholqamy started with a small cart serving the best mutton in the area and slowly turned it into one of Egypt's most recognised grill names. The menu is unapologetically focused - lamb kebab, ribs, fileto, kofta, tarb and offal - all grilled over charcoal with a secret seasoning that regulars chase across the city. The Giza branch sits on El Mahata Street and keeps long hours, with catering services for events and delivery covering all of Cairo. It suits carnivores, families celebrating, and anyone who believes a proper Egyptian meal means grilled meat, bread and little else. When only charcoal-grilled lamb will do, Gamal Sholqamy is the master. Come hungry, order the mixed kebab, and taste the grill tradition that put Giza on every meat-lover's map.Operating Hours
