The Moghul Room is the signature Indian restaurant of the Marriott Mena House, the historic hotel on Pyramids Road in Al Haram that began as a khedival hunting lodge in the 1860s. Open from late afternoon until late evening, it serves authentic Mughal-style curries, biryanis and tandoori dishes, with a dedicated vegetarian section featuring chana masala, bhindi masala and mushroom mattar, all crafted to a fine-dining standard. The setting is pure atmosphere, with gilded interiors and chandeliers echoing the grandeur of the old Mena House Oberoi, and the pyramids visible from the hotel grounds. Reservations are available through OpenTable, and the kitchen accommodates vegan requests when specified, making it a flexible choice for special occasions and visitors staying at the hotel. It was that good we went two nights running. Some of the best curries we have ever tasted. Really tasty food without being over spiced or made over hot. Service was impeccable and a comfortable atmosphere inside and out. Part of the Marriott complex but open to all, we were not residents but made equally welcome
