Art D'Egypte has locked Forever Is Now 6 to 4 to 28 November 2026 on the Giza Plateau. Ahram Online ran the English version of an Al-Ahram Hebdo piece on 17 August. Gulf Today and the organiser's Instagram used the same dates. Edition 5, which closed 6 December 2025, sat on the southern side of the plateau. The National described ten site-specific works in sight of Khufu, free once you had paid the ordinary Pyramids Complex ticket. That is the model to plan around until Art D'Egypte posts a 2026 add-on fee, which it has not. Do not buy a separate "Forever Is Now VIP" from a hotel desk. Buy the official plateau ticket, then walk.
The sixth edition's brief is humanity, architecture and the natural world. The August announcement highlights women artists from French, American, Chinese, British-Jamaican and Egyptian scenes. Named artists were not in that release. Edition 5 had names you could Google before you landed: Michelangelo Pistoletto's Third Paradise, Vhils' Doors of Cairo, Alex Proba with SolidNature. How to walk the plateau with the art in the way
Coach groups still dump at the main panorama first. The art in 2025 sat further south, which meant a second walk after the classic three-pyramid shot. Wear the same shoes you would for the plateau, not gallery soles. November mornings in Giza are the first comfortable ones after summer. Arrive at opening. By 11:00 the sand in front of any photogenic piece is a scrum of phones.
Photography rules in 2025 allowed phones without flash. Professional kits were a different conversation with the inspectors. Assume the same until a 2026 notice says otherwise. Stay inside the ropes. Several 2025 pieces used salvage, marble offcuts, or glass that does not love a tourist climbing for a higher angle. The plateau is still a UNESCO cemetery, not a sculpture park with a gift shop attached.
Combine the show with GEM on a different half-day. The museum is a timed ticket on tickets.gem.eg. Forever Is Now has been a walk, not a slot. Trying to do Tutankhamun galleries and ten desert installations before a 3 p.m. airport run is how people skip both. If you only have one Giza morning, pick the pyramids plus the art and leave GEM for the late Saturday or Wednesday opening.
What changed from last winter, and what has not
What changed: the organiser is selling edition 6 as a women-led chapter, and the dates sit later in November than some earlier runs. What has not: you still need the plateau ticket, you still deal with Haram Street works for Metro Line 4, and you still should not count on a shuttle from GEM. The balloon project on the desert rim is a separate operator and a separate pad. It is not the art trail.
UNESCO patronage is on Art D'Egypte's own copy. That does not mean a second ticket office. It means the ministry has signed off on putting contemporary work on the sand again. If a November concert or a private gala closes part of the southern circuit for a night, the daytime trail has historically reopened the next morning. Check the organiser the week you fly. The August text is a date range, not a daily operations manual.
